X (Twitter) QR Code Generator
Enter @yourname or paste an X or Twitter profile link. Download a QR for a card, poster, or package. A post link is accepted when that one post is the destination.
Open your profile and copy x.com/yourname. twitter.com links are accepted and rewritten to x.com.
Free static QR. No watermark, no scan limit, and no expiry set by Scanely. The destination must remain available.
Your QR code
Generated in your browser. Scanely does not upload your link to generate this static QR.
Keep the print. Change the link.
Create an account to make an editable QR and see scan counts. Your link, colors, and size will be ready in the creator.
A dynamic QR is a new code. Create and download it before printing; this static download will not become trackable.
Profile first, post when the post is the point
An X QR on a business card or a product sleeve should open the profile. The handle is what you want people to find next month. A launch thread is different: paste the post link, which contains /status/, and the QR opens that post. Home, search, and “post this tweet” composer links are rejected.
Put a reason to scan on the piece: “Updates on X” is clearer than a logo alone. QR codes for social media compares a single profile with a page of several links. The same idea is on the Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok tools, with checks that match those sites.
How to create an X (Twitter) QR code
- Enter your handle. Enter @yourname, or paste an x.com or twitter.com profile link.
- Confirm the preview. It should open your profile. Home, search, and composer links are rejected.
- Download the QR. Download PNG or SVG. On a card, add a line such as “Follow on X.” Print a dynamic Scanely code if you may point the card at a different page later.
Static handle, or a code you can retarget
This download is static. The username is inside the image, scans are not counted, and a rename does not update prints you already made. If you may point the same card at a link-in-bio page later, create a dynamic QR and print that file. Free includes 3 dynamic codes and 1,000 scans a month. The codes keep redirecting. Starter is $9/month for 50 codes.
See pricing. A Telegram channel uses the Telegram QR generator. Size the code with the QR size calculator.
Scanely is independent of X. X and Twitter are trademarks of their owner.
Check the scan before your print run
Scan a printed proof of your static download with a phone and check its destination. If you create a dynamic code in your Scanely account, First-scan check gives you a temporary test QR and confirms when your phone scans it.
The temporary code keeps test activity separate from campaign analytics. Never print it; download and test the final QR before ordering a batch.
Questions before you print
Can I use a Twitter link as well as an X link?
Yes. twitter.com/yourname and x.com/yourname both become https://x.com/yourname. Typing @yourname works too. t.co short links are rejected because they are a poor fit for print.
Should the QR open my profile or one post?
Use the profile on packaging, cards, and signs that will still be around after the next post. A /status/ link is accepted when that one post is the point of the piece. The tool warns you, because a post link does not follow later posts.
Why are home and tweet-composer links rejected?
x.com/home, search, and intent links do not open your profile. Copy the address from your profile, which looks like x.com/yourname.
What if I change my username?
A static QR keeps the username you encoded. Prints already in the world keep the old address. Create a dynamic Scanely code before a run you may want to retarget, and print that file. Free includes 3 dynamic codes.
Is this X QR code generator free?
Yes. Download PNG or SVG with no account and no watermark. The code does not count scans. A dynamic Scanely code does, and it can later open a different page.
Will the scan open the X app?
Phones that have the app often open it. Others open x.com in the browser. The QR only contains the address. Test a proof on a phone that is not signed in as you.
