?start=value is kept when it is a short token, so the bot can tell which print sent the person.
Share sheets and login pages are rejected. The check looks at the address format only. It cannot tell whether the chat is still public.
Invite links expire and run out of uses
Telegram can put an expiry and a member limit on an invite. When the date passes, or the limit is used up, that link stops adding people. A static QR still contains the old invite, so the poster is stuck. Create a dynamic Scanely code before you print if you may need a fresh invite, or if the sign should later open the public t.me username. The dynamic code also counts scans. That is the reason to use it for a private group.
How to create a Telegram QR code
- Enter the chat. Enter @yourchannel, or paste a t.me link for the channel, one post, or an invite.
- Check the preview. Join it once from a phone that is not already a member.
- Download the QR. Download PNG or SVG. For an invite that can expire, print a dynamic Scanely code so you can paste a new invite without reprinting.
A static invite is stuck on that link

Check the scan before your print run
Scan a printed proof of your static download with a phone and check its destination. If you create a dynamic code in your Scanely account, First-scan check gives you a temporary test QR and confirms when your phone scans it.
The temporary code keeps test activity separate from campaign analytics. Never print it; download and test the final QR before ordering a batch.
Questions before you print
What Telegram links can I encode?
A public username such as t.me/yourchannel or @yourchannel, one channel post, an invite link (t.me/+… or t.me/joinchat/…), or a bot link with a start parameter. Share and login links are rejected.
Do people need the Telegram app?
Phones with Telegram installed usually open the chat there. Others get a page that offers to open or install the app. Test the printed proof on a phone that is not already in the chat.
What if I revoke an invite link?
A static QR keeps the invite you encoded. After you revoke it, those prints stop joining the chat. A dynamic Scanely code lets you paste a new invite without reprinting. Free includes 3 dynamic codes, and they keep redirecting.
Should a sign open the channel or one post?
The channel. A post link is accepted when that announcement is the whole point of the piece. The tool warns you, because the next post will not be on that print.
Is this Telegram QR code generator free?
Yes. PNG and SVG need no account and add no watermark. Scans of this static file are not counted. A dynamic code records them and can change destination later.
How long can a Telegram username be?
A public username is 5–32 characters, starts with a letter, and uses letters, numbers, and underscores. Shorter names are rejected because they are not valid public usernames.
