Google Review Link: Find, Share, and Test Yours

A Google review link can open the review flow. Copy it from your Business Profile, share it by QR, and test the right location before printing cards.

What is a Google review link?

A Google review link is a link that can open the review flow for a specific business location. A short Google Maps link may open the business listing instead, so check where it leads before sharing it. Our Google review QR code generator explains this distinction and checks link format, not the business behind it.

Before printing, test the final QR with a second phone. Confirm the intended business and review screen. Customers must sign into a Google account to post; scanning a code is not a completed review.

Find and copy the link for your business location

Start with the Google Business Profile for the location you want customers to review. If you manage several locations, choose the intended one before copying its link.

Choose the location customers should review

  1. Open Google Business Profile for that location.
  2. Select Read reviews > Get more reviews.
  3. Copy the review link.

Follow Google’s current link and QR instructions. Keep each copied link associated with its location when preparing your materials.

Copy the link or use Google's QR image

Google Business Profile provides a free review link and its own QR image. You can use those directly, or paste the copied link into Scanely to prepare a card, counter sign, or folded table stand with your business name and a neutral invitation: “Tell us about your experience.”

Choose a free QR option or an editable dynamic QR

Choose a static QR for a fixed review link, or a dynamic QR if you need destination editing and scan counts after printing.

Compare the options before printing

Choose the option that matches your print workflow:

Option What to use it for
Google's free review QR Download Google's own QR image for the review link.
Scanely static QR Prepare a card, Letter sign, or folded stand with a fixed review destination.
Scanely dynamic QR Create a new QR with an editable destination and scan counts before printing.

A printed static QR cannot become dynamic or trackable later. Choose the code type before preparing your print run.

How a dynamic QR redirects customers

A dynamic QR encodes a short redirect URL instead of the final review link. When the URL opens, Scanely redirects the visitor to the current destination and can record scan activity within the account’s scan allowance, as explained in our dynamic QR generator. Read more about how dynamic QR codes work.

For this optional workflow, create an account, then create and download the new dynamic QR before printing. Scan counts are not completed reviews; Scanely does not read your Google reviews.

Share your link with a neutral review invitation

Pair your copied link or printed QR with a neutral invitation: “Tell us about your experience.” Ask for honest feedback without suggesting a rating or telling customers what to write.

Invite honest feedback without influencing the rating

Google requires reviews to reflect genuine experiences. Its content policy prohibits selectively requesting positive reviews, discouraging negative feedback, and requesting specific review content. Do not pressure customers to post while they are on your premises.

Keep rewards out of the request. Discounts, free goods, or payment in exchange for posting reviews, changing reviews, or removing negative reviews are prohibited under Google’s review guidance.

Keep requests consistent when an agency helps

Use the same neutral invitation across your cards, signs, and messages. Do not reserve the review link for customers you expect to leave positive feedback.

The FTC’s guidance for marketers also cautions against selective solicitation and says businesses should understand what agencies do on their behalf. Ask your agency to show you its invitation wording and customer selection process.

For your Scanely review materials, keep the invitation focused on the customer’s experience. If you also want a tap option on the same display, follow the NFC setup guide and test that destination separately.

Turn your Google review link into a printable card or sign

Paste your Google review link into our Google review QR generator to create a static QR in your browser, without an account or watermark.

Choose your layout and download format

  1. Add your business name if you want it on the printed material.
  2. Add a neutral invitation, such as “Tell us about your experience.”
  3. Choose a 3.5 × 2 inch card, US Letter counter sign, or folded table stand.
  4. Download the QR as PNG or SVG, or download the card or sign as a print-ready PDF.

Cards download as individual pages. Ask your printer to arrange them on a sheet rather than assuming the PDF contains a sheet of cards.

Prepare the design for a physical proof

Print the PDF at 100% / actual size. Keep sufficient contrast and leave the blank border around the QR clear.

Use our QR size calculator to check size against scan distance, and consult our QR printing guide. Before printing a batch, scan one physical proof with a second phone and confirm the intended business and review screen.

Test the final QR before printing a batch

Use this checklist on the final file and a physical sample.

Confirm the business and review screen

  1. Scan the final QR and confirm that it opens the intended business and review screen.
  2. If it opens a listing or the wrong business, return to the intended Google Business Profile, choose Read reviews > Get more reviews, and copy the review link.
  3. Download the final QR and scan one printed proof before ordering a batch.

Keep First-scan check separate from the final print

For dynamic codes, Scanely's First-scan check provides a temporary test QR and confirms when your phone scans it. This keeps test activity separate from campaign analytics.

Never print the temporary QR. Download and test the final QR, then check a physical proof before ordering your batch.

Google review link FAQ

Where do I copy my Google review link?

Open Google Business Profile for the intended location and choose Read reviews > Get more reviews > Copy.

Does Google provide a free review QR?

Yes. Google Business Profile provides a free review link and its own QR image.

Do customers need to sign in?

Yes. Customers must sign into a Google account to leave a Google review. Scanning the QR does not remove that requirement.

Why does my QR open the wrong screen?

A short Google Maps link may open a listing instead of the review flow. Copy the review link from the intended location’s Business Profile and test the final QR before printing.

Can I change a printed static QR?

A static QR contains a fixed link and cannot become dynamic later. For destination editing, create and download a new code using our dynamic QR generator before printing.

Do scan counts show completed reviews?

Scan counts are not completed reviews. Scanely's free static code tracks neither scans nor reviews. An optional dynamic QR counts scans, but those events do not establish that customers posted reviews.
